The Post-Jam "Make the Game Playable" Update


So, in game jams you get not a lot of time to make a game. Stuff gets scrapped, bugs gets through, and all around you shouldn't release it in that state to a public account.

I did, a week ago, upload what was basically the build made right after #SipJam finished. Some tweaks, but bugs were still present in large quantities. I had work and I also moved last week so I just uploaded what I had so the team could play it. I expected maybe 10 downloads. What we got is amazing and fills me with joy. So many downloads, so many views. And that's stayed strong throughout the week. We got something like 20 downloads yesterday. I felt like leaving this game in it's state was a disservice to the all the people who have taken a bit of their time to play our silly little game.

So, I've fixed it. No more bugs, at least that's what Renpy's internal bug checker says. I even had to write one branch myself. It's very short but I think still poignant. But yeah, all 4 days for each character are in and working. I hope if you wanted to see more of the game you download version 1.2.
